Native hand picked Wild Rice is a north country tradition. Even back in the early 1600's when wild rice was first discovered by French explorers, it was considered a delicacy. The Chippewa and Sioux Indians collected and stored wild rice which made up 25 percent of their diet.
Much of what is found on the market today is commercially grown paddy rice. We offer only Natural Wild Rice picked from Minnesota lakes and streams.
The yield for our Wild Rice is 1 cup raw equals 5 cups cooked. We hope you enjoy this north country delicacy.
